《Voices of the Lifestream》是OverClocked ReMix制作的一张非官方致敬合辑，以纪念植松伸夫为著名的视频游戏《最终幻想VII》所创作的配乐。合辑于2007年9月14日发行，以纪念《最终幻想VII》十周年。自发行以来，这张合辑获得了众多电子游戏网站和专业作曲家的好评。

《Voices of the Lifestream》的制作始于2006年1月，由OverClocked ReMix的评审和混音师安德鲁·“锆石”·阿维萨（Andrew "zircon" Aversa）个人发起，旨在重新创作《最终幻想VII》的原声音乐[1]。在编导笔记中，阿维萨提到他对游戏《最终幻想VII》的怀旧体验是他进行这个项目的动力来源[2]。为此，他创建了一个私人论坛用于项目的开发，并联系了许多社区成员来协助制定曲目清单。整个项目的开发历时20个月以上，涉及到超过40位混音师共同创作了45首曲目[3][4]。合辑于2007年9月14日发布，以庆祝日本作曲家植松伸夫为游戏《最终幻想VII》创作的配乐推出十周年[5][6][7]。合辑的实体副本数量很少，些曲目以无损WAV和MP3格式数字发行[8]。《Voices of the Lifestream》也是OC ReMix发行的第九个作品[1]。
音乐视频比赛[编辑]
在2007年10月，OverClocked ReMix与Piano Squall以及eStarland联合举办了一场比赛，比赛内容是制作一部以《Voices of the Lifestream》中的曲目为背景的音乐视频[9][10]。比赛设有三个不同的组别，包括《最终幻想VII》、动漫和原创。获奖者将获得签名限量版《Voices of the Lifestream》签名限量版等奖品，并有机会在OC ReMix参与的动漫和游戏展会上展示他们的视频作品。比赛于12月14日结束，两个月后在OverClocked ReMix论坛上宣布了获奖名单：[11]

电子游戏音乐网站以及一般电子游戏网站的编辑们对合辑的评论一般都是正面的[5][7]。Kotaku称该项目是“一项充满爱的大规模劳动”[14]。Game Tabs称这张合辑是一部“杰作”，并对合辑的质量感到惊讶，但还是批评了部分曲目的声乐部分[15]。SquareSound给予项目90%的评分，赞扬了OC ReMix社区展示的音乐才华并推荐立即下载。SquareSound还批评了其中的一些曲目，认为他们在尝试重新诠释原始素材时“迷失了方向”[3]。Music4Games的杰森·纳波利塔诺（Jayson Napolitano）在预先评论中称《Voices of the Lifestream》是“电子游戏音乐世界中最令人印象深刻、最全面的聆听体验之一”[16]。
