葛荣居士（Godwin Samararatne，1932年9月6日—2000年3月22日）是近代斯里兰卡的禅修大师之一。在1980年他辞去图书馆管理员之职而迁入甘迪的尼蓝毗禅修中心（Nilambe Meditation Centre）担任禅修指导师。
生平与教法[编辑]
葛荣·三摩罗罗顿在1932年9月6日，在斯里兰卡的甘迪（Kandy）出生。其父是甘迪上一点的汉滩（Hantane）的小山上的茶园中的主要行政职员，而其母则是家庭主妇。他有三兄弟及四位姊妹，最小的妹妹出生时就夭折了，而最大的哥哥则在结婚当天死于车祸。他的两位兄弟名菲力及克他，而他的三位姊妹名多罗菲、马条达、苙舒米。[1]
葛荣在甘迪就读法王中学（Dharmaraja College），他的好朋友斯利·古拿温达拿（Siri Gunawardana）后来出家成为著名比丘，并在甘杜波打国际内观中心（Kanduboda International Vipassana Meditation Center）担任禅师，他成为那儿的禅修学生，并在1956年中学毕业后，在当地的图书馆担任管理员，直到1979年。[1]
1960年起，葛荣居士积极协助美国维珍尼亚大学的伊安·史蒂文森教授（Ian Stevenson）研究斯里兰卡的轮回个案，直到1988年，史蒂文森教授完成研究计划。而在这段期间，葛荣居士亦与士提芬荪教授合作撰写关于轮回的文章[2]，1977年，他亦受到邀请而前往美国维珍尼亚。[1][3]
1977年前后，葛荣居士开始协助在甘迪医院心理治疗室工作的Dr. L. Rodrigo。这项工作令他游走于甘迪的不同医院、诊所、中心做辅导及治疗的工作，直到他往生。
1979年，有位甘迪的富商捐了他的茶园出来建立禅修中心，这就是后来的尼蓝毗禅修中心。葛荣居士被邀请般入该中心做管家，他毅然辞去图书馆管理员的职位，迁入禅修中心，及后成为禅修指导师。[1]
这间禅修中心开始时是由Ven S Dhammika、Yogacara Rahula和Joseph Goldstein指导，后由葛荣禅师作禅修中心的主要指导师。
1980年，他开始被世界各地的居士邀请到各国教导禅修，如瑞士、德国、英国、南非、接着是香港、台湾及新加坡。[1][4]
至1990年代，他受邀到各国教授禅修越来越多，欧洲、亚洲及非洲，直到最后一次到非洲后不久，因肝退化而往生。他教授禅修不只教南传各国的佛教徒，亦教大乘佛教徒及基督教的传教士及信徒。[1]
葛荣禅师往生后，他的两位朋友开始收集关于他的手稿及在全球的记录。[5]
