2025年安大略省大選將於2025年2月27日舉行，以選出第44屆安大略省議會議員。[2]這是一次提前選舉。
安大略省省長道格·福特於2025年1月28日會見安大略省省督艾迪絲·杜蒙，請求解散省議會；隨後杜蒙批准其請求，並宣佈選舉日為2025年2月27日。此次選舉將花費1.89億加元。
自2018年起由省長福特領導的現任安大略進步保守黨政府將尋求連續第三屆連任。進步保守黨的主要對手是司馬慧領導的安大略新民主黨和康寶麗領導的安大略自由黨。
背景
[編輯]自2016年起，安大略省選舉法令規定安省大選一般情況下須於上次大選結束後的第四年6月的第一個星期四舉行。但省議會仍可在其通過對省政府的不信任案或由省長向省督提請後提前解散並舉行提前選舉。
然而自2024年初以來，社會各界就猜測，省長道格·福特將利用民意調查和籌款方面的領先優勢，以及希望在2025年加拿大聯邦大選之前舉行選舉，而聯邦保守黨預計將在2025年聯邦大選中獲勝。[3][4]這種猜測在2024年5月得到了進一步的證實，當時福特在多次新聞發佈會上被記者問及是否同意大選是在原定的2026年6月。[5][6][7]
2025年1月，福特開始表示，他需要選民「明確授權」的多數政府，以應對美國總統當勞·特朗普威脅對加拿大進口到美國的產品徵收關稅[8][9]，儘管他已經擁有自2018年省選以來的進步保守黨多數政府。反對黨指責提前選舉是多餘的。[2]
