Intertel是一個成立於1966年的高智商學會，會員被要求在智力測試中達到前1%的水平[1]。它被認為是自20世紀60年代末以來成立的著名高智商學會之一，入會要求比門薩更嚴格、更排他[2][3]。
歷史
[編輯]Intertel於1966年由拉爾夫·海恩斯（Ralph Haines）創立。他借鑑了門薩創始人羅蘭·貝里爾（Roland Berrill）和蘭斯洛特·韋爾（Lancelot Ware）的想法，希望創建一個適應天才需求的協會，這種協會除了最低智商要求外，沒有其他的入會限制。Intertel是繼門薩之後，第二古老的高智商組織[4][5]。
組織與活動
[編輯]根據其章程中所述的目標之一，Intertel的成員參與關於高智商的研究[6][7]。
1978年，Intertel為紀念著名心理學家萊塔·斯特特·霍林沃斯（Leta Stetter Hollingworth）而設立了國際「霍林沃斯獎」，霍林沃斯專注於天才兒童的研究。該獎項每年頒發一次，至少持續到1993年，最初由Intertel贊助，後來由Intertel基金會贊助[8][9][10]。
