狐丘監獄
狐丘監獄（Fox Hill Prison）是巴哈馬的唯一監獄，位於該國首都拿騷，由巴哈馬懲教署（Bahamas Department of Correctional Services）監管。該監獄的男監區按安保等級分為高中低三等；另有一女監區以及一醫療區[1][2][1][3][4][5]。

1952年3月，巴哈馬當局在狐丘（巴哈馬群島的新普羅維登斯島上一村莊）建立了一個監獄，最初該監獄與前大英帝國的其他所有監獄一樣，都叫女王陛下的監獄，後於2014年8月11日更名[4]。
狐丘監獄不是巴哈馬群島上的首座監獄。史料對現在的巴哈馬國領土上的監獄的最早記載來自17世紀。目前，拿騷的所有監獄都已改建，改成了拿騷公共圖書館和皇家巴哈馬群島警察總部。 [4]
巴哈馬也在新普羅維登斯島運行着針對移民的卡邁克爾（Carmichael）路拘留中心[6][7][8]。拘留中心啟用於1993年，是整個加勒比地區的第一座{tsl|en|Immigration detention|移民拘留設施{}}[9][10][11]。此前，巴哈馬當局都會把被拘移民關押在狐丘監獄[7][8]。被拘禁於卡邁克爾路拘留中心的移民大多來自海地和古巴。卡邁克爾路拘留中心和狐丘監獄都曾因內部條件惡劣而遭受過聲討[7][8]。2022年，巴哈馬移民部部長曾聲明，政府正在改進卡邁克爾路拘留中心的設施，還計劃在伊納瓜島建立一移民拘留中心[12]。
條件與名聲[編輯]
狐丘監獄曾因條件差而遭到過國際批評[13]。國際特赦組織在2003年的報告中稱該監獄內部的傳染病（如結核病）爆發風險很大[3]。據美國國務院於2020年公布的針對巴哈馬的國別人權報告稱，狐丘監獄已人滿為患，衛生條件差[1]，且缺少足夠的食物與藥品。報告稱該監獄裡寄生有蛆、老鼠以及其他昆蟲；囚室里無廁所只有桶；還有些囚犯報告說因長期睡在地上，他們已患有褥瘡。報告還稱監獄在面積只有約6平方米[3]，沒有床墊、馬桶的牢房裡監禁多名囚犯[1][5]，最多一間關了六人。2017年，監獄負責人帕特里克·懷特 (Patrick Wright) 承認安保級別最高的監區依然沒有廁所，只有桶[14]。巴哈馬律師Romona Farquharson曾表示囚犯們有時一周只能得到低至30分鐘的放風時間[5]。
懲戒部門負責人Doan Cleare曾於2022年說，當局已改善了監獄條件，而且完成了翻新工作，還終結了「齧齒動物問題」。同年，拿騷衛報公布了一段視頻，顯示出獄內設施的新舊與優劣程度不一，有些設施確實被翻新了，但依然存在多名犯人擁擠於一間牢房內的問題[15][15]。

- 山姆·班克曼-弗里德：商人，曾參與創建加密貨幣交易所FTX與加密貨幣交易公司Alameda Research；他於2022年被關押於此，之後被引渡回美國[5][3]。
- 邁克爾·肖貝克，美國連環殺人犯，於1976年被處決[16]
- 大衛·米切爾，2000年因在巴哈馬群島謀殺兩名德國人而被處決。 [17]
