這架由噴氣救援空中救護車運營的里爾55噴氣機註冊號為XA-UCI，生產商編號為55-032，生產於1982年，事發時機齡43年。[7]該機自費城東北機場（英語：Northeast Philadelphia Airport），原定經停密蘇里州格林縣斯普林菲爾德西北部的斯普林菲爾德-布蘭森國家機場（英語：Springfield–Branson National Airport） [8]後前往墨西哥蒂華納的蒂華納國際機場。[9]

國家氣象局紀錄的當地氣象數據顯示，當時費城出現小雨、陰天和有霧天氣，下午6時前記錄風速達30英里每小時（48公里每小時）[4]。

在2025年1月31日約18時22分（EST），在起飛後30秒，這架小型噴氣機從雷達上消失，墜毀在科特曼大道（英語：Pennsylvania Route 73）和羅斯福大道（英語：Roosevelt Boulevard (Philadelphia)）路口的羅斯福商場（英語：Roosevelt Mall）附近[9][14]。墜毀時，飛機的下降率達到了每分鐘約11,000英尺。飛機殘骸碎片擊中了該地區的多座建築物[5][15][16][14]。附近的攝像頭拍攝到了飛機從天上墜落並發生巨大爆炸並冒出濃煙的畫面。WTXF-TV（英語：WTXF-TV）的報道顯示，現場有大片殘骸與多處起火[17]。
