English: On September 12, 2024, Edward Kwakwa, WIPO Assistant Director General of the Global Challenges and Partnerships Sector, signed a Letter of Understanding with Kamal Bin Kormin, Director General of the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), officially including Malaysia as an Authorized Contributor to WIPO ALERT. Datuk Armizan bin Mohd Ali, Malaysia's Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Affairs (MDTC), and Dato’ Nadzirah Osman, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations, were also present at the signing ceremony.

Malaysia is now the fifteenth Authorized Contributor to WIPO ALERT, a public-private partnership aimed at combating digital piracy.

MyIPO will serve as Malaysia’s designated national authority, responsible for providing lists of copyright-infringing websites to the WIPO ALERT platform.
