English: "Spirit of Communication" which in 1914 became the corporate symbol of the American Telegraph & Telephone Company, the former Western Electric Company, and was also featured prominently on the cover of all Bell System telephone directories beginning in the early 1930s through the 1940s as the symbol for the system and its affiliated companies.
