外星生命

外星生命一般指存在于地球以外的生命体。它们尚没有被目前地球上的生命所观测到，倒是許多虚构作品中时常有它们的出现。它们与外星人时常被作为人类文艺节目讨论或展示的对象。当然始终有人相信有外星人存在。但是目前没有确凿的证据来证实这一点。
人們在火星隕石中找到了微生物化石，再加上大量的外星人造訪地球的報導，科幻小說、電影的充斥，使得外星生命的傳聞繪聲繪影。然而这些证据实在不足以证明外星生命的存在，長久以來，科學界一直對存在飛碟等外星生命的證據持嘲笑態度。1947年美國羅斯威爾飛碟墜毀事件曾引起軒然大波，後來美國國防部聲稱這不是真的。
地外文明指宇宙中除地球上的文明以外的文明，常与外星生命相联系。有人猜測地外文明可能比地球上的文明發達。
雷爾運動認為在廣大宇宙中的無數有智慧生命，其中一族是創造地球生命的另一個星球的科學家，利用基因工程創造人類，而造物主的造物主也是用此種方法造物，並且認為若能解決目前的人類問題，將來也能利用科技創造生命，成為下一個有智慧生命的造物主。
